Jean Starck is one of the pioneers of Urban Art (Paris, France). He fights against the idea of an official art and following academic models. Representing the counterculture, he became a co-founder of the group Art Cloche, an alternative and marginal cultural group where he was a key figure. Rebellious and nonconformist, the artist found an artistic language that expresses his deep reality. Living several years within a community of squatter artists his paintings depict this atypical life. Many of his works bring the viewer in this anarchist ambiance.
